South Island

Club tee-ed off in 1893, and today Victoria boasts 8 championship
golf courses in close proximity, both private and public, including,
Cordova Bay Golf Club, Olympic View Golf Club, Gorge Vale Golf Club,
and Royal Colwood Golf Club. Nearby Oak Bay has the Uplands Golf Course
and Victoria Golf Club. There are nearby courses in Colwood, Sooke
and Sidney, and over the Malahat in Mill Bay. Eighteen-hole courses
in the Duncan area include Arbutus Ridge Golf Club, Cowichan Golf
& Country Club, and Duncan Meadows Golf & Country Club.
Central Island
If a golfing tour of the island is your dream, then pack your clubs
and head out of Victoria. Just beyond, the Cowichan Valley is a
picturesque landscape of farms, vineyards, forests and charming
little towns with numerous golf courses. This first leg is a 60-km
journey during which you can visit Cowichan Bay, a charming village
of seaside boathouses and quaint cottages. Throughout Duncan, the
City of Totems, one can observe the artistic culture of the First
Nations people - most specifically at the Native Heritage Centre.
Further north
is the town of Chemainus, festooned with painted murals and known
for superb dinner theatre. Northward still, between the cities of
Nanaimo, Qualicum, Parksville and Nanoose Bay, there is a large
concentration of courses (20) set amongst spectacular scenery. These
communities are geared toward year-round recreation and retirement
life, so there is no shortage of activities or accommodation.
North of Parksville,
the Comox Valley unfolds in a beautiful series of lakes, mountains
and wilderness areas, not to mention several spectacular golf courses!
From Parksville, drive northwest to Port Alberni and the Alberni
Valley, and stroll the fairways set in mountainous landscape. At
Campbell River, one can find first class golfing and legendary salmon
fishing.

North Island
At the northernmost tip of the Island, in Port Hardy, Port Alice and
in the remote inland community of Gold River, golfing holidays can

The Pacific Rim region of Vancouver Island offers Long Beach Golf
Course near Tofino, and three courses in Port Alberni; The Hollies
Executive Golf Course, Alberni Golf Club, and Pleasant Valley Executive
Golf Course.
The Gulf Islands
The Gulf Islands
boast four golf courses, located on Saltspring Island, Galiano Island,
and North Pender Island. Saltspring Island has two courses: Saltspring
Island Golf Course and Blackburn Meadows Golf Club. Galiano Island
Golf Course on Galiano Island and Pender Island Golf Course on North
Pender Island complete the complement of courses on the Gulf Islands.
Ferry access to the Gulf Islands is from Crofton to Vesuvius on Saltspring
Island, and Swartz Bay to Saltspring (Fulford Harbour), Galiano and
